BRIAN GRIGGS

Since joining The BASIC Fund Board in 2015, Brian has actively strived to spread the word about our organization and the impact our early education scholarships make on the lives of those recipients. Brian and his wife Elizabeth have seven children and recognize the life long benefits of an early, quality education. Their efforts to expand the number of students who receive BASIC Fund schlorships is driven by the proven results that our scholarship recipients who are able to attend small, inner-city private schools have a higher probability of attending, and graduating from college than their socio-economic peer group.

Aside from spending time with his growing cadre of grandchildren, Brian enjoys spending time in the Sierras and becoming frustrated attempting to get better at golf. His greatest passion, aside from his family, is working with and supporting The BASIC Fund’s staff as they continue to fulfill the vision of our founders Jim and June McCarthy.
